Obituary of Patricia A. Shaeffer

Patricia A. Shaeffer (Gohn), 77, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on 3 July 2021 at Melbourne Regional Hospital after years of battling a heart condition.  

 

Patricia was born 11 Jan in Southern York County, PA.  She is the daughter of the late Walter and Dotty Gohn (Dorcus) of Wellsville, PA. and step-mother, Oda Keener. 

 

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert L. Shaeffer Sr., her children Patrick McCleary, Michelle Herbert and her husband John, Andrea White and her husband Anthony, Amy St. Agathe, Katrienna Hengst and her husband Robert, Robert Shaeffer Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Rodney Shaeffer, Rick Gohn, twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, several half brothers and sisters from the Keener family and numerous nieces and nephews and their spouses.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Denise Zellers and brother Robin Gohn.

 

Patricia attended Red Lion High School, and worked as an inspector in the electronics field.  She retired from Fincor of York, PA in 2010.  Patricia was a dedicated and loving wife and mother.  She was a lifelong Christian and music lover.  She enjoyed playing keyboard alongside her husband Robert and with the praise teams at the former Lighthouse Church of Red Lion and Lake Washington Fellowship of Melbourne, Florida.  She was very involved in church and taught Awanna classes as well as Sunday school and vacation bible school. 

 

A celebration of life service will be held at a future date at Lake Washington Fellowship, Melbourne, FL.  Friends and family are welcome to attend or watch via televised service. More information on the exact date and time will follow and be posted on her Face Book page.

 

The family would like to thank Patricia's medical care providers and staff for the outstanding care they provided: Dr. Roque, Dr. Patel, Dr. Aslam and Dr. Pinto as well as the ER, Surgical and ICU staff at Holmes Regional and the ER, PACU staff at Melbourne Regional Hospitals. Accept our sincere appreciation for all your efforts and dedication.
