Obituary of Jonathan Fairchild

In a hurry to enter this world, Jon brought joy, laughter, tears, and a playmate to our family.  The second child and grandchild- first grandson- Jon was filled with generous love and laughter.  You knew you were loved when Jon was around.

Jon was born in Melbourne Florida on 9^th September 1979, and was raised in Palm Bay.  While he lived in other places around Florida, he landed back in Brevard and stayed.  Jon worked as a Logistics Technician at MacTec and DRS in recent years and ultimately bought a home in Titusville Florida.

Jon was slow to smile…. But then you always knew it was a true smile and not just paste.  Generous to a fault!!  If you asked, he would help. He always gave thoughtful gifts and was willing to lend a hand.

Jon’s dream was to move to Alaska where he owned 10 acres of property.  His trip to Alaska in 2018 made him smile so much it was beautiful and joyful to see.  He was planning another trip to Alaska for next year.

Jon’s best friend, kayaking buddy, camping buddy was his 15 year dog, Duncan.  Duncan went everywhere with him and Jon would not have had it any other way. 

Jon passed away in his home on 1^st June 2021 at the age of 41.  He watches over his family: parents Rich and Theresa Overcash; sister Jennifer Fairchild; nephews Anthony and Shawn Fairchild; uncles Wallace Brandon and Cy Colarchik; aunts Gloria Colarchik and Cathy Brandon; cousins Stephanie Henson, Shaun Henson, Krystle Purvis, Blake Purvis, Will Purvis, Brandon Stapleton, Hunter Henson, and Alycen Purvis
