Obituary of James Dale Denson

James Dale “Beau” Denson, age 66, of Palm Bay Florida passed away March 12, 2021 exactly 1 year from his date of diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer at Vitas Hospice in Rockledge FL with his fiancé Chris by his side.

Jimmy was born in Newmarket/Ewing, Suffolk, England to Robert & June Denson on 12/26/1954. Jimmy enjoyed his young years in England, being his Grandad’s favorite traveling companion. Mr. Winfield (grandad) thought nothing of plopping young Jimmy onto a bar stool and sharing a pint with the wee lad for the afternoon. Young Jimmy was impressed by the comradery, the story telling, and the friendships in the English pubs.  This impression formed Jimmy’s personality early in life.

The Denson family continued their United States Air Force life in the states. Jimmy was always the new kid, making friends in each new location. Jimmy graduated in 1973 from Dover High School in Dover, Delaware. After breaking up with Chris his high school sweetheart, Jimmy moved to Tampa, FL becoming a bartender. Here he continued to hone his penchant for entertaining, and he was good at it. It was during this time that Jimmy recreated himself as Beau, a lifelong moniker.

In 1976, Beau enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Lubbock, TX. After 4 years in the Air Force, Texas Tech was Beau’s next endeavor obtaining his degree in Recreation Management. Beau’s claim to fame was being one of the best racquetball players around. While at Texas Tech Beau managed the pool, then tried his hand at managing baby pageants, then at Lubbock Memorial Hospital he lead the cardiac patients in aquatic rehabilitation, his positivity was a great success and they all fell in love with Beau. Beau and a group of local businessmen thought Lubbock would benefit from having a water park, and rightly so. Texas Water Rampage was developed and managed by Beau for many years. and still flourishes to this day. The 80’s afforded Beau the exact lifestyle he was made for. “Moving and Shaking” and making innumerable lifelong friends along the way.

In 1987 he married Karol Rogers and adopted her 5 year old daughter April. They enjoyed a beautiful loving relationship for 28 years. Later on, they relished being grandparents. Beau doted on Karol the last 15 years of their marriage while Karol suffered from Huntington’s disease until her untimely death.

In 2012, Beau moved to Palm Bay FL to take care of his ailing mother. After his mother’s passing, Beau made Palm Bay his home. In 2018, Beau reconnected with his high school sweetheart through Facebook. Beau convinced Chris to retire and move to Florida. They had fallen madly in love again and only got to enjoy 2 years of being snowbirds before Beau was afflicted with Pancreatic Cancer. In true Beau fashion, he accepted this condition as “his lot in life”. One of Beaus best qualities was to accept what might come his way without complaint and full of grace. Beau was the life of the party, always happy, always positive always there to lend a hand. He cherished his friends and considered his friends the best part of his life. He was a good and kind man. He enriched everyone’s life with his laughter and his good nature.

Mr. Denson is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, James & Florence Winfield, his paternal grandparents Frederick & Margaret Denson, his parents Robert & June Denson, and his wife Karol Denson.

James (Beau) is survived by many many cherished friends, his daughter, April Fuentes (Brian), three lovely grandchildren, Paige Trevino, Payton Trevino, and Paisley Trevino, all of Lubbock Texas.
