Obituary of Betty Anne Poarch

Betty Anne Poarch, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2021.  She was born in Richmond, VA.  She married Philip Poarch and moved to Stony Creek, VA.  She was a licensed practical nurse on the coronary care unit at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA.  Upon her retirement, she moved to Chesapeake, VA to be near her grandchildren.  She was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and led a women’s Bible study there for many years.  

She is survived by her daughter Wanda McWhorter (husband James), 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a sister, Barbara Morton (husband Allen).  Betty Anne is predeceased by husband Philip Poarch and son Wiley Poarch.  

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Great Bridge Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons International or Great Bridge Baptist  Church.
