Obituary of William Hughes Rudolph

William Hughes Rudolph, passed away on February 23, 2021 at the age of 84 surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha and his sister Mary Rogers, his oldest son Timothy (Jeanette), with granddaughters Kristen and Brittany and grandson Timothy II, and younger son Michael with granddaughter Abigail and grandsons Michael Jr., Ryan and Joshua.

He served honorably in the United States Air Force, and worked as an electronic technician for RCA at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Patrick Air Force Base.  He worked as a Range Safety Officer with ordinance.  He held licenses to operate military radars and radio communication stations.  He worked for the Central Intelligent Agency with a clearance above top secret.  He obtained an accounting degree from Rollins College.  He also worked for DBA Systems and Harris Corporation before starting his own consulting business.

He loved to work with wood making many of the items around the house.  He operated a wood lathe using black walnut to make bowls and candle stick holders.  Bill loved to go shooting in his younger years and fished to the last month of his life.  He kept his boat at Honest Johns Fish Camp and was the longest returning customer to date.  He served as a librarian while in the Air Force as a collateral duty.  He enjoyed going to garage sales to look for and buy books.  He found great satisfaction in negotiating contracts and the sales price of any item.

He would spend as much time as possible with family.  He volunteered with the Gideon’s placing Bibles in many hotel rooms. He served with the Boy Scouts of America Space Coast District as the District Executive.  He completed the Wood Badge Training Program at Camp Lanoche.
