Obituary of Floyd Steven Batchelor

Floyd Steven Batchelor, 65, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at his home in Melbourne surrounded by Family.

Floyd was born in Conneaut, Ohio on February 16, 1955 to the late Floyd Almo Batchelor and Doris Brainard Batchelor Johns.

Floyd enjoyed fishing a great deal, especially with his grandkids and catching a shark with is sons in law. He enjoyed riding his Harley Sportster for which he instilled a passion for riding with his two youngest daughters who now enjoy riding due to him.

He was a father to all the neighborhood kids and everyone called him “Dad B”. He was very generous with helping his kids get out of trouble with mom. Sundays were always the day that was spent with mom and dad for family time. We would get in the car and just go exploring back country roads, creeks and cemeteries that were old and forgotten, swim in Lake Erie and he would chase his kids on the go kart he got them. Life was always eventful and never boring.

Floyd’s family includes his wife Connie of 46 years; daughter Toni Batchelor; daughters and sons in law Shanon and David Wilcox, Kristina and Ron Sarnes, and Suzanne and Garry Gibbs; brothers and sisters in law Robert and Martha Goddin and Michael and Lily Batchelor; sister Betty Sickinger; brother-in-law Scott Parker; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mark and Lou Ann Parker;  sisters in law and brothers in law Mary and Ted Cornelius and Sandra and George St. John; grandkids Larissa, Valerie, Justin, Sondra, Ronnie, Brianna, Braeden, Eric, Nathan, Kevin, Josh, Mary and Anthony and great grandkids Ryan, Aria and Brooklyn.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, Robert Johns; brother-in-law Anthony Sickinger, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, and his beloved dog Sasha.

Floyd’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ballard Park, 924 Thomas Barbour Drive, Melbourne. A celebration of life will be held in Ohio at a later date.
