Obituary of Andrea Ortiz

Andrea Ortiz, 73, of Palm Bay, Florida passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at William Child’s Hospice House surrounded by her sons and daughter. Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Isabelle Quiles and the late Andres Ortiz.

Andrea was loved by all who encountered her. Those who knew her described her as a strong, single mother who was strong willed who dedicated her life to her family and community. Her family was the most important part of her life.

Andrea is survived by her eldest son Peter Rojas of Bristol, Connecticut; daughter Ivonne Rojas of Palm Bay, Florida and youngest son Carlos E. Piña Jr. of New Britain, Connecticut; four sisters, Isabelle Rodriguez of Palm Bay, Florida, Matilda Frembes of Bristol, Connecticut, Ana Mendez of Palm Bay, Florida, Maria Creel of Middletown, Connecticut and their spouses; three brothers, Andres Ortiz Jr. of Palm Bay, Florida, Eligio Ortiz of East Hampton, Connecticut, Carmelo Ortiz of Meriden, Connecticut and their spouses. She leaves behind 11 grandkids and six great grandkids.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to The William Child’s Hospice House for their kindness and compassion during Andrea’s stay at the House and all her physicians and home health aides that assisted her throughout the years.

A memorial service in her honor will be through ZOOM on Saturday July 25 at 7:30 PM.
