Obituary of Ron Sramek

Ron Sramek, of Cocoa Beach, FL took his final voyage on January 8, 2014 from his home surrounded by family. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on May 7, 1935. A loving father and friend, he is survived by son Jim Konieczka; daughter Maria Sramek and special friend Rosie Stroda. Ron served in the US Army for 25 years where he was awarded the Purple Heart while bravely serving in Vietnam. After leaving the Army, Ron worked for Intergraph Corp installing hardware systems around the globe and ultimately at the Kennedy Space Center. In his retirement, he delivered Meals on Wheels and had also volunteered his time at Cape Canaveral Hospital. Ron lived life to its fullest and had lived and traveled extensively, visiting over 75 countries in his lifetime. Ron loved beauty in all of its forms, art, music, nature and had a keen appreciation for travel and variety of cultures. He loved to laugh, had a wicked sense of humor and was a very good cook. He was intelligent, inquisitive and had a keen ability to fix just about anything. He was a wonderful father who taught his children to value pragmatism over dogma, experience over material possessions and the value of intellect, hard work and honesty. He will be greatly missed by family and friends but his legacy will remain in their hearts forever.
