Obituary of Martha E. Olin

Martha May Estopinal Olin, 89, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, at her home in Melbourne Beach on Feb 9, 2015. She was born and raised in Washington, DC to David and Martha McClanahan Estopinal. She was the granddaughter of the Honorable Albert Estopinal, Sr., US Representative and former Lt. Governor of Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University where she met and married in 1944 the love of her life, Warren Olin, a US Army lieutenant. Together they were stationed throughout the US, Germany, and France during WarrenGÇÖs military career. They retired to Brevard County in 1973. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and friend with a genuine zest for life. Among her many interests she had a passion for traveling, gardening, golfing, entertaining, playing bridge and the piano, dancing, horseback riding, sewing, and too many more to list. She was a member of the Island Garden Club, Rufus Fairbanks Chapter of the DAR, and the Retired OfficersGÇÖ WivesGÇÖ Club (US Army). She received awards for the Island Garden Club from Keep Brevard Beautiful organization due to her leadership with beach clean ups. She was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Kathleen. She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Warren S. Olin, her daughters Karen and Martha, her granddaughter Jennifer, son-in-law Ben, two great grandchildren May and Walker, her in-laws Natalie, William, Priscilla, Eugene and Grant, and many Estopinal family cousins. Arrangements entrusted to Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 1001 S. Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL (321) 724-2222. A private family service will be held. She will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers, do a good deed for someone in need and ask them to pay it forward.
