Obituary of Barbara Schank Churnell

Barbara Schank Churnell, 71, died October 22, 2014 in Melbourne, Florida. She was born December 25, 1942 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Robert and Katherine Schank. Barbara grew up in Ridgewood, New Jersey and graduated from Ridgewood High school in 1960. She attended Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated in 1962. Barbara worked as a legal secretary prior to her marriage 50 years ago, on February 29, 1964, to Robert F Churnell. A fabulous Air Force wife, she moved with her husband 19 times during his career. She served as Treasurer for the Sunnyland Beach Homeowners Association. Barbara was actively involved in planning and contacting Ridgewood High 1960 classmates for their 50th reunion. BarbaraGÇÿs family includes her husband, Robert; son, Jon; brother and sister-in-law, James and Maddy Schank; and nieces, Jessica and Laura.
