Obituary of Eleanor M. Lee

Eleanor Marie Heyliger Lee was born on January 27, 1930 to Isaac Newton and Geraldine Heyliger, the first of three children born to the family. Eleanor had one brother, Vincent, and one sister, Ann, all of whom were born and raised in New York City. Eleanor’s mother was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and her father was born on the island of Saba in the Caribbean. Eleanor was raised as a Roman Catholic. She attended FIT University to study fashion design and did some modeling. She met Ivan Joseph Lee in April, 1949, and on December 31 of that same year they were married, a union that lasted until the present for 65 years. Eleanor gave birth to three children, Judith Ann, Raymond Anthony and Jeanne Marie. She was a grandmother of four, three from Judith Ann, Christina Marie, Monica Ann and Marissa Octavia and one from Raymond Anthony, Nicole. She was a great grandmother of eight, three boys, Ronald David and Justin and five girls, Davina, Alyssa, Ashli, Anaela and Ja-Nae. She also had a sister, Anne and a brother, Vincent who preceded her in death some years ago. Eleanor was not only a loving and devoted wife and mother but also a caring grandmother, sister and aunt. Multi-talented, she loved to work with her hands. She sewed and painted floral landscapes and stunning portraits. Travel and meeting people delighted her. But most importantly she loved her family and God. Arrangements by Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care. Please share memories and sign guestbook at www.afcfcare.com.
