Obituary of Lois Anne Kennedy

Lois Anne Kennedy, of Indialantic, Florida, passed away March 21 at the age of 70 from complications related to a lung infection. Ms Kennedy is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth B. Kennedy, her mother, Margaret L. Kennedy and her brother, Ken Kennedy. She is survived by two children; Heather Hanson and Rebecca Carter, five grandchildren and her life partner, Charles Bollinger. Born and raised in Monticello, Kentucky, Ms. Kennedy was a fourth-generation entrepreneur. The Kennedy family ran multiple clothing stores in Monticello, and Ms. Kennedy moved to Vero Beach, Florida to establish and run another Kennedy’s. In 1987, she became a State Farm agent in Sebastian, Florida, recently completing 30 years as an agent.  She loved her work, believing it ‘made people whole.’  Helping others put their lives back together after misfortune brought her great joy. All who knew her will miss her bright smile that lit up a room, her warm and ready laugh, her ‘try anything’  attitude and her limitless willingness to do anything and everything to help others. She epitomized optimism, independence and strength as a parent, friend and leader. Her interests and experiences were broad and far flung, with an endless curiosity and thirst for knowledge that took her around the world. Closest to her heart were her family, friends and State Farm. In keeping with her wishes and style, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Relay for Life – American Cancer Society.
