Obituary of John Joseph LaPointe

John Joseph LaPointe, Sr., 81, of Miami, FL died Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was born in Miami, FL on May 31, 1933 and graduated from St. Theresa High School, Coral Gables, FL in 1952. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea. After leaving the Army, he was employed by Florida Power and Light and later joined the family canvas business. He is survived by daughter, Frances (Pedro), his sons, John, Jr. and Louis; and his grandchildren Stephanie, Cristina and Brittany; his brothers, Ben and Paul; and his sisters, Mary, Patsy, Louise and Lillian; many nieces and nephews. John was one of 11 children born to the late, Benjamin and Agnes LaPointe. He was preceded in death by his brother, James; and his sisters, Kay, Rae and Therese. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32935 on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 am. On Sunday, February 1, 2015 military honors with Taps will be held at the American Legion Post 133 located at 16401 SW 90th Avenue, Miami, Florida from 2-4 pm.
