Obituary of Donald Edward Matthews

Donald Edward Matthews, Sr. age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home. Born in Utica, New York he moved to Florida in 2004 from New York. Don served with the Seabee’s in the US Navy during WWII in Okinawa. A machinist he worked for over 30 years with Chicago Pneumatic. A member of the Moose Lodge in Utica, he loved tools and working with his hands. His family includes his daughter, Jeannie L. Matthews (Thomas Dinneen) of Warrenton VA; son, Donald E. Matthews, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Moorpark CA; brother, William Matthews (Phyllis) of Apache JunctionAZ; his grandchildren, Brennan and Nicholas Matthews of Moorpark CA; and Tracy A. Traeger (John) of Austin TX. His wife, Josephine “Beany” Matthews, preceded him in death.
