Obituary of Richard A. Blanton

Richard Alvin Blanton, Sr. passed away January 31, 2015 in Rockledge. He was born in St. Petersburg, Fl on April 28, 1938, where he grew up, where he met his sweetheart, Carolyn Fox, in junior high school after they married they eventually moved to Rockledge where they raised their son and daughter. Richard had many talents from being a Electronic Technician with RCA during the Apollo Missions, a Volunteer Firefighter with Brevard County, a Policeman with City of Rockledge, an Electrician with City of Cocoa but best job he had was being a great father and Poppop. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to Boy Scouts with his grandson Thorn, watching his granddaughters Katee and Harlee compete in barrel races, camping, watching car racing, and wood working. Richard was an Amateur Radio operator since 1965. His call letters were WA4TRF. Richard is survived by his two children Rick and Sandra. He has four grandchildren from oldest to youngest GÇô Tabitha Blanton, Katee Hiatt, Harlee Hiatt and Thorn Hiatt. He was preceded in death by loving wife Carolyn F. Blanton and his parents, Horces and Lillian Blanton.
