Obituary of Richard Simmons

Richard E. Simmons, Jr., 63, born and raised in Cocoa, died at his home earlier this week. The last son of Mary and Richard Simmons, he is survived by his three sisters, Mary Anne Simmons-Conrod of Pueblo, CO, Audrey Simmons-Edens of Melbourne and Lee Simmons-Mullins of Dahlonega, GA; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and Miss Kitty. Richard served in the United States Army in the early 1970’s. A very proud Florida Cracker, he is the 7th generation of Florida Simmons’s and Landon’s and Barber’s. Ricky may not have intended to go where he ended, but he always ended up where he wanted to be. He lived his life the way he wanted to live.
